My Professional Website: Created Using HTML and CSS Code

I Learned How to Write Simple Code

I created a website using basic HTML

HTML is the abbreviation for HyperText Markup Language, and is the code, or language that is used for the creation of websites. HTML can be a little frustrating to learn and understand, and the intricate details can prove difficult to get to grips with. You might think that you have never seen HTML in your life, but if you are embedding widgets into your blog you might want to learn some of the basics. HTML is a very useful tool for everyone who uses the internet, and learning the basics may take you less time than you thought.

You might be asking yourself, Why should I learn HTML? if you are a blogger or if you are a teacher and have to maintain a school website or classroom blog.  Understanding a bit of code will enhance your website and help you personalize it.

Ginny Soskey in her post, ” 7 Times You’ll Kick Yourself for not Learning HTML” shares a quick list of times HTML knowledge just might come in handy for you.

If you would like to try it out w3schools.com is a great beginning site.  I especially liked the “Try it yourself” window.  Here you could practice the code you were learning and see what it would look like on the live webpage.

Another easy to use site that teaches you simple HTML is HTML.net.  If you are interested in really trying to create a page or two on the web this site gives you a beginning plan.  I began with this site and then used the w3schools site to learn new code as needed.  I guess you could say HTML.net was my classroom and w3schools was my application.

I hope you give it a try.  I walked away with a deep appreciation for web design!
